Mr.Andy Gu

After graduating with an LLB from Beijing University in 1987, Mr. Gu worked as in-house counsel for China National Foreign Trade Transportation Corporation under the Ministry of Commerce for four years. While at MOFCOM, Mr. Gu attended several worldwide UN legal conferences as one of the members of the China delegation.

In 1992, Mr. Gu worked in London as a trainee for Sinclair Roche & Temperley – Solicitors. From 1993 to 1995, Mr. Gu studied for an LLM degree at SOAS, London University. Since 1996, Mr. Gu worked as counsel for several law firms and trust companies related to offshore financial and investment law, as well as Chinese commercial laws while in London. As Managing Partner of B&D Law Firm, Mr. Gu also heads the International Practice Group for the Firm. His main practicing areas cover offshore financial and investment law, securities law and capital markets, FDI, Cross-border M & A, corporate finance, and other commercial related issues. Mr. Gu was one of the first attorneys in China assisting Chinese clients in going public overseas and with offshore investment. Mr. Gu is a regular attendee and speaker at various seminars/conferences/training courses to cover the legal topics of PE/Pre-IPO financing/ PIPEs /SPACs and Chinese enterprises going public overseas. Mr. Gu has established deep connections with securities attorneys and potential clients in China. He is qualified for the independent directorship recognized by China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and is an independent director for several public companies.

Mr. Gu is a member of the International Bar Association, American Bar Association, Inter-Pacific Bar Association, The All China Lawyers Association, and Beijing Municipal Lawyers Association.
